Portugal |April 18th, 2018
Instead of docking in Germany we docked in Portugal. There was a really bad storm and the ship would not make it safely with 600 students on board so we anchored in Lisbon, Portugal for 2 days so the college students could finish their exams, graduation ceremonies, and the Alumni Ball. We didn’t get to leave the ship as we were anchored in safe harbor but that was ok since my mom, dad and I had just been to Portugal last year.Went then disembarked for the last time a day early, on April 18 in Lisbon. We immediately went to the airport where we had a burger breakfast. As we ate, we met a crew member who was going to Bombay via Dubai. Then they started calling our flight and we went to the gate and relaxed as we had a short flight to Germany.
Germany |April 19-20, 2018
We finished flying in Cologne. We swiftly had dinner in the airport so we could catch our flight to Hamburg. Once in Hamburg, we went to bed in our hotel. We woke up the next day and walked the streets around Hamburg. We had ice cream by a lake. Next, we stumbled upon a Hop on Hop off bus tour after having McDonalds. On the tour, we drove around for a bit listening to the history of Hamburg. After our tour, we went back to our hotel to relax before dinner. We then had dinner with another SASer and talked about our flight that got cancelled to Iceland. I got tired and went to bed early. Then next day we woke up were to traveling to Iceland. From Hamburg we flew to Frankfurt on our way to Iceland.
